Cancelled 1st Team Match against Littlethorpe 5

This match was called off at the last moment by Littlethorpe. As a result we have now claimed the match and it goes down as a win for the 1st team.

2nd Team Vs Littlethorpe 6

The 2nd team travelled to littlethorpe this week desperate for their first win of the season. With the full first team out for this match they were not to dissapoint. The evening went all the visitors way with Rob Stone and Stuart Hollingworth putting in early and decisive wins and paving the way to a match win. Ron King sealed the win mathematically with a draw on board 3. The evening was to get even better as Liz Gist put the icing on the cake with another win on board 4. Final result 3.5-0.5 to Syston 2.

3rd Team Vs 4th Team

It was a busy night as the second match of the evening saw the 3rd team play the 4th team. John Leonard was the first to finish as he was held to a draw against the up and coming young talent Chris Mulvaney. Things then turned in the 3rd teams favour as Liz Gist gave the 3rd team the advantage with a win on board 1. Mo Martin sealed the victory for the 3rd team with a hard fought win against Don Lockton on board 3. The evening was rounded off with Reg Agger securing a very creditable draw on board 2 against Ron King. Final result 3-1 to Syston 3.

1st Team Vs Hinckley 1

The 1st team actually got to play their second match of the season in a home match that saw the return of Cyril to the fray. Hinkley turned up one player short immediately handing the advantage to the home side. Their evening was not to improve as Ben Pourmozafari won on board 1 in double quick time. Cyril didn't waste any time and sealed the win with another win on board 2. Reg Gibbs was held to a draw on board 3 which gave the away side their only score of evening as Stuart Hollingworth finished the evening and a convincing overall win with a win on board 4. Final result 4.5-0.5 to Syston 1.

The evening did not start well as board 1 went to Spinney Hill however the match evened up as Ron King and Stuart Hollingworth secured draws for the home side. Late in the evening Liz Gist confirmed the drawn match with a win on board 4. Final result 2-2, Match Drawn.
