The 2nd team travelled to Loughborough this week hoping to improve on their disasterous opening match. Their fortunes did not improve as they were again overpowered by strong opposition with only Ron King preventing a whitewash with a draw on board 3. Things can only improve for the 2nd team. Final result 0.5-3.5 to Loughborough 3.

The 3rd team travelled to Braunstone this week for their second match of the season. The 3rd team continued their promising start to the season as the visitors proved too strong for the home side with Ron King and John Creasy posting the vital wins and Liz Gist sealing the victory with a draw.
